Insert Systems are the type of receptacle found on the bottom of your golf shoe. The Insert System determines the type of cleat that will need to fit your shoe.

The receptacle, brand of golf shoes and existing golf cleat thread pattern fitted into you shoe will all play a part in choosing the correct spikes for you. Many shoe manufacturers tend to keep to one thread design and choice of golf cleat. Golf shoes of a certain age may have a used a different thread pattern in prior years so be sure to check this prior to making your purchase.
The receptacle insert guide below will help you establish which cleat thread pattern best suits your requirements. The guide shows the type of receptacles and inserts are fitted to the sole of the golf shoes and also the type of thread pattern on the cleat that is most commonly used by the manufacturer.

Golf cleats and golf spikes threads are available in Fast Twist, Fast Twist 3.0, FT3, Q-Lok, PINS Thread, 6mm Small Metal Thread and 9mm Large Plastic Thread. Note: Fast Twist 3.0 are cross compatible Tour Lock, Tri-Lok, Fast Twist and Slim-Lok.

- Found in a wide range of shoes
- Threaded twist insertion
- Small Metal Thread cleats come in packs of 22 cleats
Q-Lok
- Triangular locking system
- Found mostly on Nike shoes prior to 2013
- Created as an alternative to threaded inserts

- Q-LOK cleats come in packs of 18 cleats
Large Plastic Thread
- Found in a wide range of shoes
- Threaded twist insertion
